Mitchell A. Greenberg

Mitch Greenberg earned his degree in English Literature from Washington University in St. Louis. Mitch received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law and, while in law school, learned the trade while working for the Greenberg Law Office during the day. Mitch passed the Maryland Bar exam in 1991 and his high score enabled him to be accepted into the Washington, DC Bar without taking a separate Bar exam.

Mitch is extremely active in the field of workers' compensation law and, in fact, recently finished his two-year term as Chair of Maryland’s Joint Task Force for Injured Workers' Rehabilitation. Mitch is an active speaker on workers' comp issues and has presented seminars to many organizations, including the following: Maryland Workers' Compensation Educational Association, Maryland Trial Lawyers' Association, the National Rehabilitation Hospital, Maryland's Joint Task Force for Injured Workers' Rehabilitation, Chesapeake Association of Rehabilitation Professionals in the Private Sector and Pro-PT.

While on the Maryland Trial Lawyers' Association Board of Governors, Mitch chaired its Workers' Compensation Section and remains deeply involved in improving conditions and benefits for injured workers..

With experience gleaned from trying cases for the Baltimore City State's Attorney's Office, Mitch began handling criminal cases for the Greenberg Law Office. Mitch has represented clients in several high-profile homicide cases and has obtained excellent results in all of them. Mitch has been an adjunct faculty member in the Criminal Justice department of Coppin State College and taught a graduate-level course. Mitch currently handles all types of criminal and traffic matters.

Mitch also handles special education matters on behalf of families trying to obtain a free appropriate public education for their children. Mitch became very involved in special education law while helping his autistic younger son through the system and remains one of a very small number of Maryland lawyers who represent children with special needs in special education disputes.

Mitch also helps people outside the office. For several years, Mitch was the volunteer leader of the Legal Professionals channel at America Online where he hosted several weekly legal chats and also moderated the message boards. He helped people understand their legal rights and, when possible, helped to direct them to services in their own state. Mitch also provided similar assistance to the public through Prairielaw.com, although he became less active after it was purchased by Martindale-Hubble.

Mitch is a Captain and Legal Officer JAG of the Maryland Defense Force where he provides legal support for the Maryland Army National Guard and the Maryland Air National Guard.
